A hand-crank winch isn’t just for pulling vehicles—it can also be mounted on a lifting tripod to hoist heavy objects. In most cases, you’ll need to install the winch onto the tripod yourself.
Here’s how to install a hand-crank winch on a lifting tripod:

Installation steps of hand winch for lifting tripod - 1

Step 1: Attach the handle
Secure the handle to the winch using the fixing screw. Install the washer and spring, then ensure the locking button is in place.

Step 2: Mount the winch to the bracket
Position the winch on the bracket and fasten it securely. Open the winch guard, insert and tighten the internal mounting screws, then reattach the guard. Finally, tighten the base screws.

Step 3: Install the winch onto the tripod
Lift the assembled winch slightly and place it onto one leg of the tripod. Secure it with bolts. Release the winch cable and turn the handle to confirm smooth operation. Then, attach the pulley and wire rope to the tripod—thread the cable through the upper part of the pulley. This setup allows the winch to be firmly fixed to the bracket, making bolt installation easier.
